My name is Kirangwa Aloy Ibrahim. I'm 29 years old, and as for now I'm a volunteer in the HDCC charity. I was a street kid at the age of 13 years and it was such terrible situation I wouldn't be standing here, I wouldn't be talking to you - it's because some few people, they sacrificed themselves towards my life. They invested in me by giving me also the same: that's education and I came to realise that I have to do something. And together with my friends, we came about with a vision: Hope Destitute Children's Centre, and as you hear from its name, it's a hope for the destitute children. So basically it's focussed on activities as far as emancipating destitute children. We have projects like Lukaya Polytechnic. It's a polytechnic giving vocational training and skills. My hope of HDCC that can be achieved here is basically to see people who have been having no hope and really they get hope; seeing people who were street kids being good citizens. That's my hope.
